PREP returns with new single “Speaking Silence”

“Speaking Silence” is the next stroke of genius from British smooth pop quartet PREP, a slow jam between West Coast blue eyed soul à la Bobby Caldwell and the velvety quality of 70s quiet storm. The song will appear on the upcoming 4-track EP, which the band has announced for early summer. Alongside the EP release, PREP are playing a headline US tour in May.

According to the band, their new single is about the calm after the storm: “There’s been an argument, a lot of feelings spilling out, but this is the aftermath when you’ve made it through and found a quiet closeness with someone again.”

PREP is vocalist-lyricist Tom Havelock, keyboardist Llywelyn ap Myrddin, drummer Guillaume Jambel, and producer Dan Radclyffe. The band fuses elements of R&B, funk, & jazz into a melting pot of blissfully-styled pop.

“Speaking Silence” is their second release this year follwing their last single “The Kid” and their critically acclaimed self-titled debut album from 2020.
