Benny Sings debuted in 2003 and has since performed for NPR’s Tiny Desk; toured the world with Mayer Hawthorne, and collaborated with the likes of Anderson .Paak, GoldLink, and Mndsgn.
On his 8th album the 43-year-old artist celebrates collaboration – amongst others with Hawthorne, Cornelius, Sukimaswitch (the “Japanese Steely Dan”), Mocky and Faberyayo. “City Pop” convinces with its sublime and modern blend of 70’s influenced pop, jazz and soul. Just the right album to end a lukewarm evening on one of the many houseboats in Amsterdam.
